Day 01 Arrival Yangon ( by morning/ midday flight )

Arrive Yangon by morning/ midday flight. private welcome and the short brake leisure to settle into your hotel until the late afternoon sightseeing starts. Visit the Chaukhtatgyi – the colossal reclining Buddha; the dazzling Shwedagon Pagoda observing lively activities and viewing sunset from there.

 

Day 02 Yangon-Bagan (flight Etd 06:30/ 1:15 hr ) Bagan Fullday sightseeing

Packed breakfast from the hotel. Transfer to the airport for early flight to Bagan. Check in hotel. Bagan, one of Asia’s most popular archaeological destinations and one out of two most pre-eminent religious old cities in South East Asia. The sightseeing starts with a visit to Nyaung Oo market – a typical local market; followed by visits to most distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon Pagoda – the holiest one believed to be enshrined with Buddha tooth and hair ; Gubyaukgyi Temple ( Wetkyiinn village) – the 13th century ‘cave temple’ with fine frescoes of scenes from Jakatas; Anada Temple – one of the masterpieces surviving and remaining in Bagan and considered to be in the Mon architecture style. A visit to the lacquer ware factory followed by a visit to local village. Before the sunset, we would take a boat ride along the Ayeyarwaddy river to discover the local life and view the sunset.

 

Day 03 Bagan – Mt popa – Bagan

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mt. Popa – an extinct volcano at 65km south east of Bagan in the plain region of middle Myanmar and as the one of National parks in Myanmar with preserved forest. It serves as a small oasis in the hot, dry plain of Myanmar. The popularity of Mt. Popa today lies in the interest of religious and mystical beliefs as an abode of spirits, “Nats”. Climb the Taungkalat – believed to be the part of the main volcano blown apart and plugged at the current location. On the way back to Bagan we would visit the toddy palm producing local home cottage. Check out from the hotel and take the flight back to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Bagan.

 

Day 04 Bagan – Boat ride to Pakoku- Monywa ( car)

Breakfast at the hotel. Take a boat sailing up to Pakokku for 2 ½ hours, another big town of Ahnyar land, could observe Ahnyar people, their land and climate, culture and product. From there another 3 hour drive to Monywa situated by the east bank of the Chindwin River. Taking Pakoku- Myaing and joining to Pathein-Monywa road, it is better to visit Po Win hill an interesting area with the caves containing ancient sculptures, mural paintings dating from 17th and 18th centuries. Proceed to Monywa across Chindwin river.

 

Day 05 Monywa – Sagaing hill-Mandalay( car)

Check out Monywa then after 13 km we would stop at Thanbodday Pagoda – an unusual Buddhist temple with over 500,000 Buddha images. Visit one thousand Bodhi trees complex where you will see the elegant standing, reclining and lying Buddha statues are being built. An over looking view from a temple looks nice. Enroute visit Sagaing hill and relax at U Bein bridge in Amarapura. Overnight at Mandalay.

 

Day 06 Mandalay( full day city tour)

Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing at Mandalay, the last capital of Myanmar kingdom, includes Mahamuni Buddha Image – believed to be cast in bronze in front of Buddha himself and nowadays gilded with thick gold leaf; gold leaf hammering, marble carving, and tapestry making. Afternoon sightseeing includes Shwenandaw monastery – still existing masterpiece of last Myanmar kingdom’s architecture in teak and wood carving; Kuthodaw Pagoda – renowned as the world’s largest book; and Mandalay Hill – regarded a natural watch tower in the plain region of Mandalay – to view the sunset. Overnight at Mandalay.

 

Day 07 visit Mingun and Inwa old city

Breakfast at the hotel. From the Mandalay Gawwein jetty, we would take a short boat ride up river to reach Mingun, located at the other side of the Ayeyarwaddy river and north of Mandalay. The boat ride is always pleasant as one can learn the ways of local life along the river. Sightseeing highlights includes Pathodawgyi – believed to be one of the largest brick base in the world and it would be one of the wonders of the world in case if it was completed; Mingun bell – said to be world’s biggest un-cracked and ringing bell and Myatheindan pagoda represents for Buddhist cosmology.

Drive to Inwa, formerly known as AVA, also a former Royal capital of Myanmar located at the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy river and Myitnge river. After crossing the Myitnge river by small boat, taking a horse cart along the bumpy road to visit the ruins of the old royal capital includes the watch tower – the 27 meter tall leaning tower of old royal palace; Mahaaungmyebonzan monastery – the impressive brick and stucco monastery; Bargaya monastery – a splendid teak wood monastery with wood curving. Overnight Mandalay.

 

Day 08 Mandalay- Heho flight Etd 08:45 / 00:30 hr – Visit Inlay lake

Upon arrival Heho airport, 50 min drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gate way to Inlay lake. Inlay Lake exists 900 meters above the sea level and the home land of Inthar tribe. Visit the regional once in every fifth day market takes place around the different area of the Inle Lake if today coincides with the market day. Phaungdawoo Pagoda – famous for its richly gilded five small Buddha images and its history; Ngaphechaung monastery (formerly also known as jumping cat monastery for trained jumping cats) – more than one and a half century old monastery with its collection of ancient Buddha Images. Other attractions include unique leg-rowing style and fishing method of the Innthar; floating gardens and vegetable plantations; and weaving factory and black smith. Overnight Inle Lake.

 

Day 09 Heho – Yangon PM flight Visit Indein

Breakfast at the hotel. Taking the boat to the down south and into a small twist and turn creek running into the lake, we would reach the Indein village – a small village located at the south western bank of the lake famous for its ruined clusters of pagodas dated back to 16th century. The tranquility, peaceful ambience and ruins overgrown with bushes would bring you to centuries back. Take late afternoon flight to Yangon . Transfer to the hotel.

Other option: Those who wish to stay two nights at Inlay lake, move Heh—Yangon flight on 10th day of Etd 10:00 ( one hr flight to Yangon). Going out from Yangon should be late afternoon flight.

 

Day 10 Yangon city sightseeing / Yangon- Onward departure flight

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing to famous shopping center Bogyoke Market (formerly called Scott Market), where you can see varieties of goods ranging from handicrafts to clothing and local food/ snack. Continue walk to the Chinatown area, a bustle point (If time permits). Transfer to the airport for the departure flight. Depart Yangon.

Pyin Oo Lwin ( Day return trip from Mandalay)

Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Pyin Oo Lwin, 65km north east of Mandalay is a famous hill station and summer resort. The road to Pyin Oo Lwin winds up the hill and there are may hairpin bends along the way. View point at 21 miles one can have a bird’s-eye view of Mandalay in the distance below. Visit central market and clock tower. Botanical garden abundant with different kinds of flowers, shrubs ,plants, beautiful lawns, huge trees providing shades. A Chinese temple (Joss-house) is worth to visit. The Pwegauk waterfall is full of scenic idylls for a picnic or an excursions. Return to Mandalay by in the evening.

Pinday & Kalaw ( Heho airport-Pindaya&Kalaw-then proceed to Inlay lake

Arrive Heho airport by morning flight and proceed to Pindaya by car 2 hrs. Visit Pindaya Caves with hundreds of Buhhha Statues and local umbrella making cottages and pindaya lake. Lunch at Pindaya and continue to Kalaw. Kalaw is a beautiful hill station surrounded by mountains. Kalaw lies 1300 meters above sea level. Palaung tribes with colourful costumes can be seen at Kalaw market. Driving and viewing the villas set amidst in pine wood. Then leave for Inlay lake.
